AMSC Welcomes Students for Second Semester with a Vision of Inclusivity and Growth, Academic Year 2025-2026
Brgy. Ditsa-an Ramain, Lanao del Sur — Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) officially opened the second semester of Academic Year 2025-2026 with a comprehensive General Assembly and Orientation. The event, spearheaded by the State College Registrar, Yashly Hanna A. Bayabao and hosted by Information Officer II, Abdul Rafie Masbud gathered students, faculty, and distinguished guests to set a positive and rigorous tone for the new academic chapter. The assembly served as a platform to introduce college officials and outline the institution's commitment to providing a supportive, high-quality educational environment.
A major highlight of the orientation was the administration's renewed focus on inclusivity and equal opportunity. Reaffirming policies supported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the State College announced that persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens are encouraged to enroll and become active members of the academic community. President Dr. Sherifa Rohannie K. Adiong emphasized that every individual has the right to grow, reinforcing the college's role as a space for all sectors of society to pursue higher education.
To support this growth, the State College detailed various student welfare initiatives, including expanded scholarship programs and logistical aid. Students were informed that scholarship amounts have significantly increased, with some grants now providing up to 20,000 pesos per year as mentioned by ICTO 1, Junaid B. Ahmad. Furthermore, the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) highlighted the "Free Sakay" program, a systematized transportation service designed to alleviate the financial burden of commuting for students from areas such as Marawi, Basak, and Poona Bayabao.
The orientation also provided a roadmap for academic and personal success through various administrative offices. The Registrar’s Office clarified essential policies on subject changes, credit evaluation for transferees, and leave of absence procedures, while the Guidance and Counseling Office headed by Hidaya C. Magator introduced itself as a safe, confidential space for students seeking academic or emotional support. Additionally, the Health Services Clinic as outlined its comprehensive care offerings, ranging from basic illness management to mental health support, emphasizing the importance of student cooperation in maintaining a healthy campus.
As the assembly concluded, the spirit of the "Late Knights" community was celebrated with calls for active participation and cultural pride. Announcements were made regarding upcoming festivities, including a Hijab Day celebration spearheaded by Sittie Asiyah A. Taib in collaboration with the National Commission for Muslim Filipinos. By aligning institutional goals with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Adiong Memorial State College reaffirmed its dedication to excellence, humility, and the holistic development of its students as they embark on the new semester.
