"USM Welcomes AMSC President Dr. Adiong and other key officials for Benchmarking Activity"

University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Kabacan, North Cotabato- On January 22, 2026, the USM hosted a strategic benchmarking visit from some of the key officials at Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC). Led by AMSC President Sherifa Rohannie K. Adiong, the delegation engaged in a courtesy call with USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel to discuss institutional priorities and program directions. The visit focused primarily on evaluating USM’s academic programs, research facilities, and quality assurance systems to identify best practices for institutional development.

The delegation conducted an extensive tour of USM’s specialized centers, starting with the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), where they observed the university's accredited water testing laboratory. At the Science and Technology Building, discussions centered on research initiatives under the Mindanao-Sulu-Palawan Innovative Research and Development Consortium (MINSUPALA). The tour continued at the USM Agricultural Research and Development Center (USMARDC), where officials showcased research on rubber, cacao, and biotechnology, as well as collaborative projects under the SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC).

Beyond research, the visit addressed administrative and quality standards through meetings with the Human Resource Management and Development Office and the University Quality Assurance Office. These sessions covered critical topics such as internal audit processes, ISO certification applications, and accreditation requirements. Organized by the USM Office of International Affairs, the benchmarking activity concluded with AMSC officials announcing plans for a follow-up visit involving students to further expose them to USM's academic and research environment.
