AMSC Joins the Philippine-EAGA Higher Education Institutions Consortium (PEHEIC)
The Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) proudly participated in the Philippine-East ASEAN Growth Area (EAGA) Higher Education Institutions Consortium (PEHEIC) 1st Quarterly Meeting held on March 27, 2026 at The 8th Diner Square, Manuel Morales Building, JP Laurel Street, Davao City.
Representing AMSC were Ms. Elle Labial, Mr. Abdul Fattah Minalang, and Ms. Omaidah B. Adiong, all from the Research and Innovation Unit of AMSC marking a significant milestone as AMSC is now officially a member of PEHEIC—a dynamic network of higher education institutions committed to strengthening academic collaboration and regional development within the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) framework.
The meeting was presided over by PEHEIC President Dr. Hanlie A. Taha of Palawan State University, beginning with the acknowledgment of participating institutions. Key agenda items discussed during the session included:
• Financial Report
• Preparations for the 2nd BIMP-EAGA Multidisciplinary Conference
• Membership Concerns
• Results of the Post Strategic Planning Meeting
• Planning of Upcoming PEHEIC Activities
• Approved SCE Projects for 2026–2028
• Institutionalization of BIMP-EAGA
The consortium is composed of esteemed member institutions, including:
Palawan State University (PSU), San Pedro College (SPC), Caraga State University (CSU), University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), Sulu State College (SSC), Western Philippines University (WPU), University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), MSU at Naawan, Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC), Davao Medical School Foundation, Inc., (DMSFI), Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), MSU Tawi-Tawi, Davao del Sur State College, SPAMAST, Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao, Davao del Norte State College, and Agusan del Sur State University.
Also present during the meeting was CHED Region XI Regional Director, Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CESO III, whose active participation and valuable insights further strengthened the consortium’s direction. Her support underscores CHED’s commitment to advancing collaborative initiatives among higher education institutions in the region.
AMSC looks forward to contributing to PEHEIC’s mission of fostering academic excellence, research collaboration, and regional integration, particularly in support of the BIMP-EAGA development goals.
